'Gajan' festival is to celebrate the marriage of Lord Shiva, a deity in the Hindu religion with Harakali. As part of the celebration, villagers dance with the heads of real dead bodies to signify themselves as followers of Lord Shiva. The heads arranged by the villagers are from dead bodies which are not so well preserved and are almost just skulls
