Culture / Making of the Goddess

Durga, the female form of Goddess with 10 hands which signifies her super-power to destroy the evil portrayed as 'asura' or the monster as seen in the foreground of the image is the most widely worshiped form of God all over India. Here we see the clay model of Durga being built. It will be worshiped for 5 days & then thrown in the river to depict her departure to her heavenly abode.
