The Masskara Festival, is an annual celebration held every October in Bacolod City, Philippines, also known as "The City of Smiles". The celebration which lasts for almost a month is highlighted by the Masskara Dance Parade/Competition, where participants/dancers from different localities known as "Baranggays" adorn themselves with colorful masks and costumes strut their wares through the city streets to the City Plaza where they showcase their best performance before a panel of judges.
