Culture / Shine on Faith

This is Shwedagon Pagoda or the golden pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar. According to legend, the Pagoda has existed for more than 2,600 years, making it the oldest historical pagoda in Myanmar (Burma) and the world. The gold seen on the stupa is made of genuine gold plates, covering the brick structure and attached by traditional rivets. The very top, the diamond bud is tipped with a 76 carat diamond. Stood high at 99m & brighten up at night, it dominating the skyline of the city.
