Once in 144 years the Maha Kumbh Mela festival is held in one of the 4 holy cities in Uttar Pradesh. This is the largest gathering of mass Hindu pilgrimage of faith in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river. This is an early morning photograph of people crossing pontoon bridges in order to bath and pray on the other side of the Holy Ganges river.
