Culture / Avtaar - down to the villages of Bengal during Gajan Festival -


Chameleon is an extinct form of folklore art in Bengal. During Gajan Festival, people are painted their bodies to make up them as chameleon of god or goddess as per Hindu mythology. Here a little girl is painted her face with blue colour to make up her as Lord Krishna. Then she and her other companions are performed various mythological plays door-to-door of the village. It is one of the the common feature during Gajan Festival in rural Bengal.
