Shathi Akter (15) chowkri (bonded sex worker) waits outside her room for customer at Rothkhola brothel in Faridpur, Bangladesh. She was being sold only for 20,000 taka ($250) two years back by her boyfriend. Many of chowkri (bonded sex workers) are underage and they work for their Madame who bought themselves from the broker. Shathi must takes on 5-10 clients per day, and most receive no pay because she must repay her debt to her Madame.
