Sharmin Akter (15) chowkri (bonded sex worker) waits outside her room for customer at Daulatdia brothel in Rajbari, Bangladesh. She was being sold only for 15,000 taka ($200) two years back by her uncle. Many of chowkri (bonded sex workers) are underage and they work for their Madame who bought themselves from the broker. Sharmin must takes on 10-15 clients per day, and most receive no pay because she must repay her debt to her Madame.
