Culture / Kasada Offerings

Tengger people bring offerings of buffalo head in ritual Kasada. The Kasada festival (pronounced and sometimes spelled: Kasodo) is a ceremonial ritual at Bromo Mountain—an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia. The ritual’s finale consists of throwing food sacrifices into the crater in hopes of ensuring future eruptions.
