People / Bahurupi.

A Bahurupi artist in a makeup of mythological goddess. The term Bahurupi is came from the Sanskrit Bahu means many and Rupa means from. Bahurupis in Bengal are a group of folk performers who do act and shown different characters. Now this is a dying art. There was a time when the bahurupi performed throughout the year, going from door to door in search of his audience. His mainstay was what he could collect from them on a day-to-day basis. Without having to ask, the mistress of the house would offer him gifts in kind such as rice, pulses, vegetables, fruits, sweets and condiments.
