Culture / Ramayana Ballet

Ramayana Ballet is a blend of drama and dance. The show is held in May until October in the courtyard of Prambanan temple. The Ramayana tells the story about Rama saving the life of Shinta which is being kidnapped by Rahwana, king of Alengka. The story can be seen in the carved reliefs in the Siwa temple, one of temple in the temple complex of Prambanan. This temple complex is located in the Sleman, Klaten, on the border between Central Java and Jogjakarta.
