Bangladesh is a riverine country. About 800 rivers including tributaries flow through the country. Living and earning of most of the rural people are associated with rivers. Bangladesh’s geographic location and geo-morphical conditions mean it is susceptible to regular flooding, cyclones and other natural disasters that impede development. Climate change issues such as sea level rise, soil erosion etc. exaggerate these disasters. Still, people are happily fighting with these changes because they love rivers.
