Svay Teng Denis, a cambodian portrait painter in Place du Tertre, Montmartre, Paris.
Beside the well known white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur and as a nightclub district, Montmartre - in the north of Paris in the 18th arrondissement, also known for artists residence area. Picasso, Vlamenck, Derain, Soutine, Modigliani, Van Gogh and countless others lived and worked in these narrow streets.
Place du Tertre where the legends of 20th century art used to roam. Now it's filled with watercolors, portrait sketchers and caricaturists. A few are actually good artists who need money, but for the most part it reminds us of that lost generation of artists who lived and worked here before the commercialization of everything.
