Nature / The path to the horizon

Rote is the southernmost district of Indonesia. It borders Australia in the south. This picture is taken from Keka Mok, an area of South Rote. The villagers said that at night, they could see the lights from Australia here. Villagers also said that sometimes, some people tried their luck into Australian territory, where, if they got caught, they would be deported back with some cash.
