Culture / Kanyadaan

One of the important rituals in traditional Indian wedding, 'Kanyadaan' literally means giving away your daughter. Holy water is poured on the hands of the bride which passes on to the bridegroom's hands signifying handing over of the bride to the groom. Then onwards, bride's welfare becomes the responsibility of the groom and his family.
