Palace Yogjakarta deploying Grebeg Maulud. Grebeg Maulud is the culmination of the celebration ceremony of the Sekaten in order to welcome the birth of the Prophet Muhammad that was marked with the appearance of "Gunungan". "Gunungan" alms or the hajad servants in the form of a large cone-shaped offerings that are made of a variety of foods, such as rice, eggs, fruits and vegetables are arranged to resemble a mountain.The celebration of Grebek Maulud is a form of an expression of gratitude Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X as King Palace Kasultanan Yogjakarta to its people.The whole gunungan will be contested by the citizens or commonly called by "ngalap berkah" or ngalap blessing.
