selain bercocok tanam sebagian warga suku tengger berkerja dengan cara menyewakan kuda bagi wisatawan yang datang berkunjung di gunung Bromo, jarak antara pemberhentian terakhir kendaraan bermotor sampai dengan tangga pertama untuk mencapai puncak Bromo cukup jauh bila ditempuh dengan berjalan kaki.
