Culture / Harvesting rice

An old woman is harvesting rice using traditional tools called "Ani-ani", a wooden tool with a blade on its edge to cut. Ani-ani is meant for individual cut rather than mass one using a bigger knife. The individual cut is meant to hide the cut from the goddes Sri's view as the protector of rice. Nowadays, harvesting rice with this "ani-ani" is getting rare as farmers want to have speedy cut.
