Culture / Stick Fighting (Peresean)

Peresean in Lombok is a traditional ceremony to establish brotherhood and add friends. Peresean Confronts two fighter, each will hold a bat made of rattan and shieldmade from cow or goat skin. The fighting will be stop if one of fighter get injured and bleeding. Peresean was a battle to prove a man's virility in Sasak tribe. There was no animosity after the game was over.
